This is it if you are looking for quality Chenin Blanc wine. Waterkloof Seriously Cool Chenin Blanc has a dry and crisp taste with fruity notes and hints of citrus.

Waterkloof wines are consistently rated as good value for money because they offer quality and excellence at an affordable price. The Seriously Cool Chenin Blanc is a famous white wine that’s been produced from our grapes in the Western Cape.

The most popular white wine from South Africa, Seriously Cool Chenin Blanc, comes in a variety of 750ml bottles. Skilled winemakers make this seriously cool Chenin Blanc with the utmost care and attention to detail.

When it comes to white wines, there is nothing quite like our Chenin Blanc Seriously Cool Chenin Blanc. This excellent wine contains refreshing flavours, tropical aromas, and oakiness.

This wine is very refreshing and has a taste of apricot, banana, peach and mango.

This elegant wine displays aromas of stone fruit, white flowers and a hint of honey. Because of the longer alcoholic fermentation the flavours are well integrated on the palate and ends with a crisp acidity. A seriously good wine!

Waterkloof Seriously Cool Chenin Blanc is crafted from 30-40 year old bush-vine vineyards in the Helderberg area. The vineyards are close to the ocean, which ensure a long growing season and allows for ripe fruit with good concentration and a balanced acidity. Production from these grand dames of South African viticultural heritage is a miserly 4 tons/hectare. Waterkloof follow a traditional, minimalistic approach in their gravitational cellar which means interfering as little as possible with the winemaking process. This allows the flavours prevalent in that specific vineyard to ultimately express themselves in the wine. To achieve this goal, all grapes are whole-bunch pressed, which ensures that juice is extracted in the gentlest way. The juice is then allowed to settle for 24 hours after which it is racked from the settling tank into stainless steel tanks, concrete eggs or older 600 liter barrels. They do not inoculate the juice with commercially cultivated yeast, but allow the wild yeast prevailing in the vineyard to ferment the juice. No additional acid or enzymes are added during the process. The natural fermentation process took 5 months to complete and only a light filtration was used prior to bottling. The only addition is a small amount of sulphur before bottling. Vegan friendly wine.

Founded by Paul Boutinot in 2004, Waterkloof is a family-owned farm using organic practices. The farm is perched high up on the windswept Schapenberg, overlooking False Bay and The Atlantic Ocean. Living soils, naturally low yields and a long growing season help provide talented Cellarmaster Nadia Barnard with naturally balanced grapes that are imbued with a truly defining sense of origin. Those grapes are then transformed into wine with a minimum of intervention. The resulting wines are fine, inimitable and best enjoyed with food.

Remarkably average Chenin blanc, although admittedly, I am not a fan of white wines.

Hi Rudy, get in touch, and perhaps we can recommend some good red wines you might enjoy.

  2. Sara

The Seriously Cool Chenin Blanc lived up to its moniker when I recently tried it. Green apple, pear, and a smidgen of honey were among the nuances in the flavours, which were vivid and fresh. It was the ideal complement to my grilled chicken and vegetables because of its crisp acidity. I will most certainly purchase more of this wine in the future. Try it out!
