Klippenkop

Klippenkop – The word klippen is a geographical term for an outcrop of rock, whilst kop in Afrikaans translates as either a hillock or a head.

In the heart of South Africa’s celebrated winemaking region, the Klippenkop winery has gracefully carved out a reputation for excellence and tradition. Nestled amidst the enchanting landscape of Robertson Valley, the winery stands as an iconic tribute to the art and science of winemaking.

Created over three decades ago, Klippenkop has grown to become a cherished name within the wine industry. Its name, drawn from the Afrikaans language, vividly portrays the vineyard’s mesmerising vista — ‘Klippenkop’ translates to ‘rocky hill’, and indeed, the rolling hills are generously daubed with characteristic rocky outcrops. This unique terrain, infused with a Mediterranean climate, provides an idyllic setup for nurturing a wide array of vibrant grapevines.

At the heart of Klippenkop’s operations, sustainability is paramount. The winery steadfastly follows environmentally friendly practices, ensuring every single drop of their wine is a testament to their commitment to our precious planet. This loyal dedication to the environment does not just augur well for Mother Nature, but also plays a crucial role in elevating the quality of Klippenkop’s wines.

Their extensive range includes the best of both red and white wines, with an exclusive selection of premium reds such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, and whites including Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, Along with these they also have a splendid curated range of rare varietal wines.
